BID NO. 2026 ITB 004 SALE OF REAL ESTATE SURPLUS PROPERTY (MINE LAKE)
The City of Monticello (“City”) acquired the land described and defined as Mine Lake; specifically, 701.45 acres, more or less, at 8841 Highway 11 South, Monticello, Georgia 31064, Tax Parcel ID No. 045 052. The entire tract of land is located in Jasper County, Georgia, and has been annexed into the city limits of Monticello, Georgia.
This real property is of no use to the City because said property cannot be beneficially used by the City for city purposes.
Sealed bids will be accepted by the City beginning April 16 2026, and continuing until 5:00 p.m. on May 8, 2026, at Monticello City Hall, 123 West Washington Street, Monticello, Georgia 31064.

Conditions of sale: The real property is being sold “as is” and as one complete parcel. The City will not consider any sealed bids for any value less than $5,000,000.00 (Five Million Dollars). No assignment of right of purchase is permissible under O.C.G.A. § 36-37-6. The bidder will be responsible for all closing costs. No commission shall be paid by the City. The bidder will be responsible for retaining a closing attorney to draft and finalize any purchase sales agreement for the sale of the real property along with being responsible for any associated costs. The City may impose additional conditions of sale including, but not limited to, the deposit of a non-refundable earnest money amount to be determined. The City reserves the right to cancel the sale, reject any and all bids, waive any technicalities or irregularities, sell the property in whole or in part, and to take any action based on the best interest of the City.
